Forging and CNC machining of flanges
Lan gear is a precision designed gear component that combines the gear body with a flange structure and can be directly installed onto a shaft, housing, or coupling. In Changjin Forging, each forged flange gear is manufactured through an integrated process of forging, CNC machining, and testing, thereby achieving high strength, high precision, and perfect concentricity.
In addition, our ISO certified production process combines advanced metal forming and precision cutting technologies to ensure consistent torque transmission and smooth meshing. Therefore, the CNC machined flange gears produced by Changjin Forging have demonstrated excellent performance and durability in fields such as automotive, energy, and industrial machinery.
Manufacturing process
Adopting a complete internal manufacturing system that combines forging, machining, and inspection to ensure accuracy and reliability at every stage:
Material selection - alloy steel or carbon steel, such as 20CrMnTi, 42CrMo, and 8620H, optimized for strength and toughness.
Closed die forging - forms dense, highly intact billets with fine grain flow, thereby achieving maximum durability.
CNC turning and milling - machining flanges and gear bodies with high precision and excellent surface finish.
Gear hobbing and spline cutting - ensuring precise tooth profile and strict dimensional tolerances.
Heat treatment - carburizing, quenching, and tempering to improve hardness, wear resistance, and fatigue life.
Final inspection - including CMM validation, tooth contact analysis, and ultrasonic testing for comprehensive quality assurance.
We also provide forging blanks and CNC precision machining services for our clients, covering industries such as energy, petrochemicals, steel, engineering machinery, plastics, prevention and control, hydraulics, healthcare, and food. Please feel free to send us drawings for inquiries.
