Common Material Grades
Alloy Steel (Forged Blanks): AISI 4130, 4140, 4340, 8620, 42CrMo4, 30NiCrMo12, etc., are the preferred materials for this type of sleeve.
Carbon Steel: 1045 (C45), etc.
CNC-Machinable Materials: In addition to the steels listed above, these include aluminum alloys, stainless steel, brass, etc.
Dimension Range
Forged Blanks: Outer diameters up to 1000–1200 mm, lengths up to 3000–10,000 mm, and weights up to 12–15 metric tons.
CNC Finishing: The machining range is very broad; some manufacturers specialize in precision long sleeves with diameters of Ø 1–32 mm, while other examples include aluminum alloy sleeves measuring Ø 42 × 52 mm.
Precision: Standard CNC turning tolerances can reach ±0.025 mm, with high-precision machining capable of ±0.005 mm, and surface roughness as low as Ra 0.8 μm.
